An ATM placement agreement should make ownership and day-to-day responsibilities clear before a machine arrives. For an Anderson business, the useful questions are who supplies the ATM, who supplies the cash, and who responds when either the machine or the location needs attention.
A local report gives those questions a concrete setting. On August 12, 2026, The Journal Online reported an arrest following a February 7 burglary of a Wells Fargo ATM in an Ingles parking lot in Belton. The report described cash theft and extensive equipment damage. Source: The Journal Online.
That report concerns a bank ATM. It does not establish that every retail placement faces the same conditions. It does provide a reason to ask how equipment damage, cash loss, and property damage would be handled in your own agreement.
Know what Greenville ATM placement includes
Greenville ATM's placement offer is free to the host business. It includes the machine, installation, wireless communications, repairs, provider-supplied cash, and cash loading. The host receives a negotiated share of ATM revenue. No fixed revenue percentage is published. Source: Greenville ATM placement terms.
Compare those terms with the agreement you receive. Identify the proposed equipment, installation location, and any conditions attached to the placement. Free placement should not leave the division of responsibilities vague.
Make the revenue arrangement readable
Ask what revenue the host's share is calculated from, how often it is paid, and which records explain the payment. Have the negotiated share written into the agreement. Ask how reversals or adjustments appear in the records.
Keep expected income separate from confirmed terms. Until there is transaction history for your location, a projection is a planning assumption. It should be labeled that way, with its inputs visible.
Discuss problems before they occur
Request a contact procedure for an empty machine, a communications problem, visible damage, and a customer reporting an incomplete withdrawal. Ask which issues staff can report directly and which require the ATM operator.
Discuss insurance and responsibility for cash, the machine, and the building separately. Ask your insurer about the proposed installation and ask the provider what its coverage addresses. Do not assume that repair service answers every insurance question.
The agreement should also explain access for cash loading and repairs. Record any restrictions imposed by your opening hours, landlord, or building layout.
Choose a location staff can evaluate
Walk the proposed customer approach during normal operating hours. Consider sightlines, lighting, waiting space, and access for servicing. Include the property owner when permission is needed for anchoring or other work.
Do not select a spot only because the cabinet fits. Review where a customer would stand and whether the machine would obstruct another activity in the business. Give the installer photographs and measurements before the site assessment.
Read the end of the agreement, too
Check the contract length, renewal terms, notice requirements, relocation rules, and what happens if the business closes or changes owners. Ask who removes the equipment and how any installation work is addressed afterward.
